I never take the remarkable transformation that takes place in people’s smiles when they experience excellent oral care for granted. I believe that it goes well beyond the mechanical process of moving teeth. The difference good orthodontics makes in improving quality of life and self-esteem is vast. It is similar to the changing a caterpillar to a butterfly. To create incredible results, I work to provide personalized care designed to meet your specific needs. I strive to build relationships of trust and friendship based on honest, clear communication. I want you and your family to look back on your time with me in a positive and meaningful light.
Education and Work History
After graduating from New Bedford High School in 1974, I went on to study at Boston University. There, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I then relocated to San Francisco where I worked as an RN in several critical areas of the hospital. I pursued my dental degree at the University of San Francisco where I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1987 and graduated at the top ten percent of my class. I was happy to return to Massachusetts where I earned my Certificate in Orthodontics from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry in 1989.
I am involved in numerous professional organizations and study clubs. They allow me the opportunity to share information and remain on the cutting edge of orthodontic techniques. They include:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- World Federation of Orthodontists
- Massachusetts Dental Society
- American Dental Society
- National Orthodontic Study Club
Outside the Office
I was born and raised in New Bedford. I am the proud father of two great children. I enjoy reading, boating, fishing, and riding my motorcycle. I have traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad. I am also passionate about the arts, especially music. I love to hear my son, a professional musician in the USAF, play.
I have been involved in many local charities and foundations over the years. I have been involved with the Dartmouth Educational Foundation, New Bedford Women’s Center, the Woman’s Fund, and the Gottschall Autism Center. It is an honor to give back to the community in any way I can.
